36 Days of Type

36 Days of Type is a project that invites the designers, illustrators and graphic artists to express their particular interpretation of the letters and numbers of the Latin alphabet. For my first attempt to unlock this creative challenge, I developed a variable font of three instances and combined it into patterns that might resemble optical illusions. The idea of the pattern working on a 8x8 grid was inspired by Arcade Game Typography, a book masterfully created by Toshi Omagari (2019, Thames & Hudson).
